Happy Anniversary to Our Blog!

On June 18, 2021, we published this blog and our very first blog post. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! We couldn’t have done it without Lisa Hodorovych of Quoth the Writer, L.L.C., who has supported us the entire way. THANK YOU, LISA!

So here I am writing about our anniversary without Margie because she’s out of town. Wait a minute! We’re in the business of wishes coming true, right? So why is MARGIE in the UK when that is MY travel wish? Ah, yes! That is how wishing works! Margie made a wish to be in the UK with her family for a special celebration and that is exactly where she is. I, on the other hand, made a wish some time ago for the perfect partner to write with and that is how Margie, and I came to be the authors of our wish blog.

We’ve told the story of how we developed our respective wish practices and how we came together to become the “Wish Mavens.” Now, here we are, a year later, with our blog, our book (now available in paperback), our journal, our workshops, and a whole boatload of wishes come true!

One of the things we established as we launched this blog were weekly writing sessions for our blog posts. We have a pipeline of ideas for new posts, we pick one, and set about writing it together. We both love these sessions. It’s like the ideas percolate perfectly between us in every meeting.

I’ve heard of “writer’s block,” but thankfully we don’t have it. That’s a wish come true all by itself! It’s one of those things that is hard to explain, let alone turn into simple steps, but it seems to be based on our confidence in each other. I know if I’m stuck on an idea, Margie will have a word, a phrase, or a thought that will help me expand my idea and she knows the same about me. I wonder if writers anywhere could use that same process? We would love to hear from you if you want to share your thoughts!

Now that I ponder it more, the other thing we do is read the post out loud to each other, so the whole thing becomes more of a conversation. We use that format in a lot of our posts, and we love to have live conversations about any and all topics. I guess it’s natural that “talking out” our blog posts works best for us.

So, how are we going to “party hearty” to celebrate our first year as Wish Mavens? Margie is coming to New Jersey later this summer and we are going to hit the road to our favorite “wishes come true” shop down at the Jersey Shore, Serenity by the Sea in Ocean Grove, NJ. Our friend, Sarah, who owns this lovely shop, is hosting us for a sidewalk sale of our book and journal. And as soon as we “close up shop,” we will be hitting the beach for a relaxing end to a perfect celebration.

Next week, our post will be brought to you by the letter “L” for love.

Until then,

Peace and All Good

Margie and Barbara
